Inclusive World partners with local nonprofits and for-profit organizations to provide dignified volunteering opportunities to differently abled young adults. Volunteer jobs give differently abled individuals the experience of working in a real-world office setting, solving real world problems, and interacting with coworkers and learning job skills. Past and ongoing opportunities include organizations such as Girl Scouts of San Jose, Art of Living Finance Department in San Jose, and Access Braille. Volunteer jobs have ranged from back-end office work to proofreading and data entry.

We work with the differently abled individuals and their families to match volunteer jobs based on the individual’s interests and abilities. Family members have reported that the individuals have experienced happiness and a sense of purpose from their volunteer jobs. Other reported benefits have been learning social behavior at a workplace and building workplace relationships.

Hear from a differently abled volunteer working for the Art of Living foundation:

"I helped mail event flyers and the required number of tickets in envelopes by matching names to a master list. This is a job that required minimal human interaction so even though I have communication challenges, I was productive in a group workspace.”
